Welcome to another edition of Five Things Friday! I’m a little under the weather here (stupid cold) so no run to recap for you this morning. Since I’ve been at this blogging thing a few months, and it seems like there’s been a bunch of new readers in the past week (Hi! Welcome! Thanks for checking me out!), I thought I’d share a few things you may or may not already know about me.
1. I (briefly) majored in musical theater in college.
For two years, I studied musical theater. This following years of community theater, choir, voice lessons, dance lesson, theater camp, music classes, the works. If there was a performance related activity, chances are I was involved. By the spring of my sophomore year of college, I realized I didn’t really want to be a performer anymore and quickly switched to a history degree. Best decision I ever made.
From a production of Anything Goes! (aka my all time favorite show) I did in 2006 (re: after college). I was Purity, one of the Angels.
2. I’m a klutz.
Like a spectacular klutz. When I was twelve, I broke my right collarbone and right arm in the same summer. There’s a story about falling getting out of my bunk bed (sober) my freshman year of college that forever earned me the sorority nickname “Grace.” I often find bruises that I have no idea how I got them. Really, falling on my face? A once a week occurrence.
3. Including English, I can sing Happy Birthday in three languages.
Thank you Sr. Rosalie and Sr. Mimi. If you can guess the other two languages, I will serenade you on your next birthday.
4. My favorite food is broccoli.
Has been since I was a little girl. My dad still offers to make it for me at least once every two weeks.
5. I’ve worn a size 10 shoe since the 9th grade.
At 5’5″, I’ve never felt like my feet were the right size for my height. Since my feet are so big, I’ve had a hard time finding shoes that fit and don’t look like orthopedic shoes. Which has led to my terrible habit of seeing shoes I like, finding them in my size, and heading for the cash register. Regardless of wherever or not I already own four pairs of shoes in the same color (not that this has ever happened to me…).
