Welcome to another edition of Five Things Friday! The weather forecast all week has called for some snow today. Here are some of my favorite things to do on a snow day.
1. Read a book.
Being inside all day doesn’t seem so bad when you can get lost in a good book. Give me a thick novel, a cup of tea, and a warm blanket and I’m a happy girl.
2. Movie marathon
When reading a book just won’t do, I love movie marathons on snow days. If I’m not working through my Netflix queue, I like to put on the classic movies channel and watch old black and white films. Something about Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn seem like perfect snow day companions to me.
3. Clean
I know this sounds crazy, but sometimes when it snows, I get the urge to clean and organize everything top to bottom. If I’m going to be stuck in the house, I may as well be productive, right?
4. Bake cookies
I love to bake, but rarely find the time outside of the holidays. I can usually scrounge up the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies (or at least find some store-bought dough in the back of my freezer). Combine with options 1 and/or 2 and you have a pretty much perfect day.
5. Make Snowmen/Snow Angels
I only remember building one snowman when I was a kid (we never seemed to get the right snow or enough of it), but I’ve made countless snow angels over the years. And I see nothing wrong with still making snow angels as an adult!
Have a great weekend!
Now it’s your turn! What’s your favorite way to spend a snow day?

Hi Maureen! I had just published my latest post when I came over to your blog and read this. It’s funny but we are quite similar! I write about reading, baking, washing laundry and watching TV.
Hope you had / are having a good evening!
Hi Jules! Nice to know I’m not the only one to enjoy those things. Have a great night/weekend!
