Not Running on Cabernet

Hey, look at that, we made it to Thursday. Only one more day until the weekend!

Yesterday, I was supposed to do a four mile tempo run, but since I’m not running for the rest of this week, I spent my morning gym time on the elliptical. I’m not the biggest fan of the elliptical, mostly because I alway feel like I’m going to fall off (clumsy, party of one), but I knew I would get a solid cardio workout. I found this workout on Pinterest and it seemed challenging but still reasonable.

The machine I was on only had an option to change the level (or maybe I couldn’t find the ramp button), so I didn’t do the workout exactly as written. I still felt like my butt was kicked.

I really liked this workout and will keep it in mind for future cross training days. Good news – my shin hasn’t bothered me at all since Tuesday! Hopefully this is a sign that “the no running for the rest of the week” plan is a good one and I’ll be ready to go next week. Because, after all, it’s called Running on Cabernet, not Ellipticalling (is that even a word) on Cabernet.

This week has been insane. Was it a full moon recently? Because it feels like there is something off in the universe. Although I did get this sweet reminder yesterday of my new mantra.

    I will definitely be giving that elliptical workout a try. I am not a huge elliptical fan, I feel like I don’t get a great workout from it, but the one you posted just may do the trick!

      I definitely thought it was a good workout. I was a sweaty mess afterwards.
